| Another lottery scam where you are chosen as a winner even though you never entered any contest. The modality on this is you have to set up a bank account with the “paying bank” to collect your winnings. They use the name of a real bank (Lloyds) and require a high “initial deposit” that of course has to be sent by Western Union. This moron quit when I sent him the account information from numerous online accounts from Lloyd’s that require an initial deposit for as low as one pound. This had me worried, so I called Lloyd’s Bank using their contact information from a business directory and they said that they don’t know anything about any lottery. They also said the they do not use hotmail for business purposes.

I also found this info about account opening on the website (notice the opening minimum balance); (I send him a list of accounts as well as fees, opening deposits, rates, terms, etc. from the Lloyds website.) |
| I received no more responses after this. I kind of expected it as I was pretty critical of him and he probably knew that there was no shot. I could have led him on longer by being complacent, but I wanted to teach this idiot a lesson about using a real, reputable bank in their schemes. I also wanted him to feel like he was an idiot for mentioning scam warnings in his emails, and then me investigating and determining that he was a scam… |
